Ivy Inquisitor

I respectfully disagree about the future prospects and talent at Nebraska.
Nebraska has a historic football program, and a very loyal fan base. But Nebraska has struggled for years in recruiting, and is far from competitive in The Big 10.

The state of Nebraska has a weak HS football talent pool, facilities lag behind other schools, and the destination (Lincoln, Nebraska) is not attractive to athletes from the HS talent hotbeds.

Scott Frost did a great job at UCF, after inheriting a zero-win season from George O'Leary. In two years they were undefeated. Frost was approached about the Florida job, but he felt a strong bond for the Cornhuskers.
I doubt Frost will survive the next season.
I am confident that he will land in another coaching job soon, and will be successful.

The problem at Nebraska is not coaching. They simply do not have the athletes to compete at an elite level, and limited options to improve that reality.

Funny thing is that Nebraska brought in Bill Callahan for the purpose of trying to modernize NU football, introducing the Cornhuskers to such concepts as, inter alia, the forward pass.

Alas, it didn't go well. But nothing really has since then for Nebraska anyway.
