Reading that none of the non-bowl teams has practiced or even has roster of players available, so Rutgers and others cannot realistically fill in.

TAM's stated reason was that they don't have enough scholarship players available. I am a little surprised they cannot fill in with non-scholarship players. For example the military academies have fully rostered lightweight teams they have been known to use as roster supplements. And I would have thought TAM has a JV team. After all this is a large school with a significant sports mentality.

Agree with you. I would bet Texas AM has more than enough players not impacted by Covid. They are likely doing this because their starting QB entered transfer portal and they are down to a walk-on QB as backup. Also some of their studs who will get drafted, opting out of bowl game. To me this is a chicken **** move by Jimbo Fisher. He is worried he will get waxed in a nationally televised bowl game by Wake Forest. And how that would look to recruits and alumni. I am sure all of their backups and walk ons would love to play in this game.

"We stand to lose a game which otherwise we were likely to win, so we're out." That is essentially what Jimbo Fisher did.

An entertaining Military Bowl game.
A very well coached and passionate Cadet squad beat a good "middle of conference" SEC team.

Mizzou had little to play for, and was flat ... and several opt-out starters.
Army got beat-up and had to go to their 3rd team QB. Great effort.

Sprint would have loved both teams commitment to to pound & gring rushing offense.

Army had a 260 lb running back that was very effective between the tackles. ALmost all snaps were under-center.

The only surprise to me was the size and the big stomaches on the Army linemen. West Point rules formerly would not allow for this girth ... which is neccesary for a run oriented OLine.
