Impressive body of work shown by Oluokun, no doubt; $00.02's research is much appreciated; as is the empirical knowledge he's gifted us with- an example being what he recently wrote on that thread about the worth of Ivy League football. However, this tackle stat, as nice as it is, is actually more a function of how much the Atlanta Falcons'defense has been on the field these past four months.

Atlanta's given up 122 more points than they've scored; and the only National Football Conference team with a more negative point differential is, of course, Detroit.

And today, the Lions ran 50% more plays than the Falcons, in 38 minutes of possession to Atlanta's 22 minutes. So while Oluokun's beaten battle fatigue and made the most of his opportunities, he's also been offered many more chances to take down opponents than has, for example, the Cowboys' Micah Parsons.

In the same Falcons game, on several plays, Brandon Copeland from Penn and Foye from Yale were on defense together. Copeland has made a nice pro career for himself.
