It was another bad loss for a team with high expectations. But there was no way Brown was going to beat Dartmouth tonight. As good as they were last night hitting threes, they were horrendous tonight. What is even worse, most of the threes they missed were uncontested. They just weren't going in. Brown lacked energy and the drive to win. When that happens, you are not going to win. Congratulations to D. They wanted it more and took it to B. D has some good players and they really put the effort in. They will get their share of wins. It promises to be a very competitive year. How the schedule falls into place may have a major say in who wins it all. Tonight Brown was lethargic after last night's emotional win over H. They slogged through the evening waiting for D to disappear. A bad attitude that led to a bad loss.

They had played the night before in Cambridge, whereas Dartmouth hadn't played in a week.

I think that would explain the difference in energy.

So, do we think going 14-0 under the old F/S schedule was difficult?

Indeed it was.

But imagine how much more difficult it is going 14-0 when you're playing a well-rested team the night after a tough match. At least in the old format, both Saturday night teams were (usually) equally disadvantaged.

Could be anyone's season this year... just hope that we can get the season in.

Agreed and well stated GG. I'm not sure how Grin was able to determine Brown's "attitude", but I thought tired legs were somewhat obvious. Since most, if not all, of the Ivies are not in session, I don't know why back-to-backs are scheduled in early January.

The great football coach Vince Lombardi once commented, "Fatigue makes cowards of us all". I don't know about you, but when I am fatigued, my attitude is not the same as when I feel rested.
