Thanks G&B.
I was not aware that this happened, but
I am not surprised.

The Brown Men's Soccer program was falling further behind the rest of the league.

Coach Laughlin did some good things, but he was not keeping the program at an elite level of talent or assistant coaches.

We will need give Coach Wileman some time to turn this situation around.

Fortunately, the new Brown Soccer/Lacrosse facility will be great for recruiting; and the soccer talent pool is deep nationally and internationally.

Kudos to Brown AD's for making the tough calls to improve program leadership in all sports.

I am not sure how much time it will take to turn the program around, but I don't think it will take long. In recent years the team was so disorganized that it was hard to believe there was any coaching. If coach Wileman can change that in the first couple of years, the program will be infinitely better. Then add in a few blue chip players, and we are off to the races. Coach Laughlin, like Jesse Agel, succeeded to the top job and that usually proves to be a mistake. When selecting a coach, you need to do the necessary vetting. It takes time and money, but it usually results in a better outcome. There have been many succession coaches who have done well, but when you have to go with a new coach, it is best to clean the slate and start from scratch.
