Agree they have outsourced responsibility and criticism. But not sure about speeding up the timing aspect; depends on what these various governing organizations have done, and I question how fast they move if they haven't done anything. We will see.

There may be some addional reasons for deferring to the sports bodies:

1. the questions of equity and fairness are specific to each sport

2. the precedent for established policies has been established

3. The NCAA will be aligned with the international community on a sport-by-sport basis.

I also agree that this solution will move more quickly (if there are existing sport-specific policies), and there is a clear benefit in a wounded NCAA outsourcing these tough and highly passionate decisions to outside organizations that oversee these sports.
