Subject: The Crimson Takes An Unfortunate Step

As a regular reader of all eight offerings, I have said on this board many times that The Crimson is the best student newspaper in the Ivy League. Indeed, the wide gap in quality between The Crimson and its closest challenger (probably the Daily Pennsylvanian, but that is damnation by faint praise) is staggering and an embarrassment to the writers and editors at the other eight.

In particular, the student newspapers at Yale and Princeton are not befitting their undergraduate student bodies.

One of the best features of The Crimson used to be the reader comments. There was a lively debate in those comments which reflected very well on Harvard alumni and the broader Crimson community.

The Crimson [newspaper] turned off the reader comments during the height of this spring's turmoil and, regrettably, the comments section is still off. It's a shame.

The comments section in The Crimson reflected the most educated and articulate comments section of any online outlet I can think of. I'll miss those comments.

FYI, this message board is also a place where I look forward to reading educated and articulate posts. Thank you to all who make it possible, including our moderator. You are appreciated.

Muchos gracias. Merci beaucoup. Xie xie ni.

Here, here my good man. I especially revel in the bawdy posts of gals in orange dresses, who suggestively offer taking a nap at reunion events. Legend in your own mind...

I still enjoy reading the Cornell Daily Sun once in a while, but the paper is so full of political views, from extreme left to extreme Mega. The paper no longer fully covers campus activities, music, sports, etc. On the sports side they often post older photos of the players from previous games than the actual game they covered. With today's digital technology if Cornell is playing at Harvard or Columbia why can't they post photos from the actual games? Unfortunately many of the contributors and editors are more interested in their political agenda than reporting the college news.
