Coastal Carolina will open camp next month with 66 new players out of 120 on the roster. Free agency is in full effect in FBS.

On the other side of the Palmetto State, Dabo Swinney defies the trend. Interesting quote in the below-linked article from Swinney assistant coach Chris Rumph:

Not overemphasizing NIL in a recruiting pitch seems to have helped Clemson with roster retention, because, as Rumph says, "If you come for money, you'll leave for money."

I heard Dabo speak last winter. He tells recruits that Clemson does not try to buy recruits, but will take good care of those who come. Refreshing.!

I suspect "taking good care" means making sure enough NILs are in place.

Bob Chesney left Holy Cross in April to take the job at JMU. He recently stated that he has 64 new players this year between recruits and transfers. And now with the scholarship level for football increasing to 105, the wacky world of FBS will only get crazier.
