Despite the 16-7 score, Penn didn't look as sharp as they had been in recent weeks. I guess it's tough generating the same level of intensity week after week, but they played well enough to win. Next week's game will be held at Drexel's field against BU.

Why can't they play at Penn's field? Is there a conflict with graduation?

I 'm not sure why they aren't holding it at River Field, where it was played last year under similar circumstances (Alumni Weekend, Commencement). But someone in the crowd said that the Drexel site has a similar surface to Franklin Field, and this was the motivating factor. However, my personal opinion is that we forfeit the home field advantage, the familiarity of FF, and make it more difficult for our undergraduate fans to attend. As I recall, parking is limited around there and the neighborhood is many blocks from Penn's campus.

While I'm not thrilled about having to use someone else's field, we still have the home-field advantage, given that they have to drive five-six hours and we don't :-). Given that the seniors will be busy graduating and the rest of the student body will probably have gone home, I doubt undergraduate attendance would be all that great regardless of location. I'm sure the usual fans will be there anyway; I plan to be. It's also not that tough to find; the directions on Drexel's site are pretty good (except for a woeful error regarding the subway. Anybody who's going that way, get off the Market-Frankford at 40th, not 30th!) and it's right off Market. I think the rationale was not wanting to switch to an totally unfamiliar surface at this point in the season.

The game was closer than expected. Colgate deserves credit. Never gave up. Perhaps the fact that this past week was finals week might explain some of the problems.
Set-up for graduation on Franklin Field begins tomorrow.
Does River Field have seating?

River Field is where the soccer teams play. Seating is good and the stadium is relatively new. We played BU there last year in the playoffs and it was SRO.

You are dating yourself; it is Rhodes Field. What is the seating capacity? The stands are starting to fill for these women's lax games.
Penn practiced on Drexel's field in preparing for the Princeton game. The turf is the same as Princeton's I would assume.

To Warrior II: I am old (C'70), and I knew River Field didn't sound quite right. Seating capacity is limited at Rhodes, a bit like the old Bower Field for baseball but much more comfortable. If the BU match was held at Rhodes this time, a crowd like we got for the Northwestern game would overwhelm the place.
