And Dartmouth should get credit for playing their hearts out. Neither team gave up in this series.

A great, great series between two very evenly matched teams. Some of these young players have ice water in their veins.

Superior! Good to see a senior who's put in all that time emerge as the star.
M. Golf won the Ivy title this year, too.

I believe it was in 1976 for baseball. Its nice to win in any sport. Good job by Boretti (will he go on to the Mets ( after all if you can find success at CU you can win anywhere).

Congrats to the baseball team. A fantastic series and one completely out of character for Columbia. For a school used to seeing defeats stolen from the jaws of victory, Columbia --read Henry Perkins-- was as clutch as can be. First time in 32 years team has won the title. A great day for the Lions, and, more importantly, hopefully one of many more to come.

How about GREAT WIN! How about a gutsy three game series over two days on the road right before finals? How about going from nowhere last season to Ivy Champs! How about the deafening silence from habitual Lion basher foehi! What a great, great win!!!

What a pleasure to see that foehi has turned a corner and put his anti-Columbia bias in the dustbin of history. It takes a big man to have the class to congratulate a team representing a school which foehi had so harshly attacked in the past. Thank you foehi. You are a bigger man than I had thought.

Good Luck to my second alma mater in the tourney, interesting that both staff aces got pounded yesterday (Young-D and Baumann-C) but Lions came from behind to win good game and amazing job by the reliever to get out of bases loaded jam Roar Lion Roar ( did I just say that?)

Brett Boretti is a class act. The first thing he said was that it was a great series "between two evenly matched teams". Then he said that he hopes we will represent the league well in the tournament. He deserves tremendous credit in turning the program around and winning on the road against a very talented Dartmouth team.

Gracious winner Mr. Boretti is- good thing for us! Heard Mr. Boretti speak last year at a alum event - impressed by him, and also at the new field ceremony.

Also, during the video stream - it seemed to me, through some quirk I guess, that I heard more people screaming for Columbia than Dartmouth - must have been the placement of the mike for the stream.

Dartmouth paper had picture of Green hecklers - guess it did not work so well!

Wonder when the team bus will pull in, half a mind to go up to 116th & Amsterdam and meet them!

Great Win! Already stated, but Henry Perkins - taken off the 2nd base and inserted as pitcher, not to take away from Geoff Whitaker (sp?) who did great first four innings, but honestly Perk showed he is the real deal. How many guys did he strike out? When I saw the lineage of some of the Dartmouth guys, originally I thought we had no chance. And I posted on this blog site early in our Southern and Cal. tour how futile it all seemed as the lossed piled up, but apparently that tour did us a lot of good!

Good win for the program, and adds more luster to Dr. Murphy tenure!

GO LIONS!

I sat with the announcers for a few minutes. They were at ground level about three feet from the first bank of Columbia rooters. The Lion faithful were loud and made a good deal of noise but you are right, location was the biggest reason you heard them. If mic had been on the third base line, you would have heard the large and loud Dartmouth crowd.

I have always found that the Dartmouth crowd (and the Brown crowd as well) are very classy. They manage to support their teams without denigrating their opponents.
