Based only on a couple of trips to Princeton and Yale, I suspect Columbia's ticket prices are far in excess of the rest of the league. If CU charged the $5.00 Princeton charges, I wonder what the crowds would be like?

I doubt ticket prices have much to do with Columbia attendance.

Their prices, relative to the marketplace, are pretty low. Less than the cost of a movie ticket.

I agree that ticket prices, at around $15 and $10, are too high, especially for a long-struggling program. Bringing them down a notch or two would probably result in more revenue in the long run from the increased attendance that I'm sure would result. Further comments?

Add to the ticket price 20$ for parking and 5 bucks for a hotdog and it gets to be an expensive outing. Fordham was much less expensive to go to.

There can't be many people in New York who would be swayed by a $5 seat rather than a $10 seat. These are people who are used to triple-digit prices for Knicks, Rangers, Giants, etc.

I'm in DC, and I'd happily take my four-year old daughter to Georgetown Women's BB games ($5), American Basketball games ($10) and Georgetown FB games (free) rather than overpriced Wizards, Redskins, or Caps games.

I'm thinking less about alumni attendance and more about neighborhood guys who have families and are priced out of pro sports, youth programs, and sports buffs who are looking for thing to do with kids.
