..... Religions evolve over time. The FIRST version of Christianity was designed exactly to spread love and peace. But these can only fleurish in societies where they are reciprocated by ALL of its members (no "rotten apples" permitted there). You can't have freedom/liberty and be religious at the same time (Bush doesn't know that yet), and the restrictions of the "Kingdom of God" were too difficult for most people in "The World", so they didn't apply for membership of the Kingdom; also possibly because they knew that they didn't qualify for membership.

After Jesus was crucified by the Romans many changes were made to Christianity, many new unauthorized denominations/versions were invented, ancient mythologies and bits and pieces of other religions, such as Mithraism, were added, and Jesus' teachings were ignored. But the name Christianity was retained.
