Well, heres a thought. If you went back in time and killed your mom then you wouldn't exist in normal reality any more. The paradox could be resolved (sort of) if the time span from when you were born until the time your mom died in the "past" got somehow copied and played on some sort of loop in a pocket dimension because time and everything about it is all perceptive anyway. The other universe "you" and the other universe "your mom" would play out the same things they did in the normal universe and reach the same conclusion only to start again. One thing that helps back up this idea (more or less) is that if you did in fact kill your mom then by the laws of anything neither of you could be allowed to exist in normal time and space, so either you get propelled to some pocket dimension until some outside force came and resolved the conflict by either: killing you before you could kill your mom or killing her before you could kill her; or both of you just ceasing to exist from that point on. Depending on your thoughts on hell you choose which is more pleasant, living forever without choice, or just ceasing to exist. Although if you were the kind of person who would go back in time and kill your mom just to test this theory out and maybe tear the fabric of space time then you probably aren't the religious type, or just flat out don't care.
