Necks are going to go down! Out rebounded, down by 11, not much time left. I just did not think the Necks would win this with Loyola playing so well this year. Ugh!!!!!!!

73-63 final! Loyola goes to 5-1, WIU 2-4!!! What is going on in Evansville???

Too bad. I was hoping for a win here.What seems to be the key for WIU? Is the talent level just not there yet?

Control!!!! That to me seems to be the key! Being able to play together as a unit, that is the key. Navonte took a shot last night with too much time left on the clock when WIU was holding for one shot with a chance for the lead. The rebound went to Loyola who cherry picked a layup and Necks went in the locker room down by 3. Gonzalez is still recovering from his car accident, Mahorn trys to be too fancy, Samuels can't move or hold on to the ball, and if the 3 point shooting is 2/12 like last night and you get outrebounded by double digits, you are not going to win. Its okay to break, but you also have got to recognize when to put on the brakes. The talent is better, but Thomas has got to get more out of it to really make the difference. the Utah Valley State game should have sounded the warning horn.....Remember though, its not how you are playing at the beginning, but how you are playing at the end. I have faith in Coach Thomas, but.......I think sonner or later his patience is gonna wear out and then..........I honestly don't see a win at Evansville either unless we learn our lessons better!

Well, I still believe a win against Evansville is a MUST.If not, it could foretell another long year. Are these "prize" recruits really not as strong as we have been lead to believe? I agree, the Utah Valley game told a lot.
Are they playing as a unit, or is it "give me the ball and watch what I can do" mentality?

They play as a unit at times, but seem to lack the consistency to really hang with the big guys. Obviously Baez was a ton in D1, we don't have that dominant inside presence on a consistant basis. And then they'll come down and have a brain fart and who ever they are playing if well schooled will be off to the races. Evansville beat Purdue. I know they are down but still. Unfortunately I think they'll come home 2-5. that of course does not mean that can't grow or have not grown as a team. We are just alittle farther away from prime time than most of us thought! Time will tell.

Westerwinds are playing with the type of attitude that makes them a bonafide D1 team. Reload, and hang with Missouri State at Springfield, game was winable, on the road, tough place to play, hangin tough, thats what the men need to beable to do!

This team is in desperate need of a true point guard. Someone to distribute the ball and run the offense and control the tempo when things get out of sorts. Unfortunely or fortunately we have a player like that in X. Price but he has to re-shirt this year. I really believe he will be the player that will get them to the next level. We should be very competitive this year at the end, but I thiunk Thomas is going to be really loaded next year since we only lose 2 seniors.
