Subject: MidCon Baseball

As of 03.31.05 the nonconference baseball record for Mid Con schools is 48-101. ORU with the only record above .500,barely.

Really thought Western would have a little more success. Tough schedule, but a lot of talk before the season.I do think it will be the Leathernecks and ORU as the top two teams in the conference.

Me thinks Coach Hyman bit off a little bit more than the Necks could chew. Especially with such a rough road schedule and a not so seasoned team. My AD use to ask me why I had Elgin Larkin and East Aurora on the schedule since at that point both programs were really good. Guess I just wanted to see how we matched up, how far along we were and just how far we needed to go. If the Necks want to really become a D1 baseball powerhouse than this is the toughest but best path to the summit. The new pressbox/facility will definitely give them another boost. But 5-20, who would have thunk it!!! I'll bet Hyman was just hoping for 12-13 or 13-12 at this point. 3 losses to TennMart really hurt, along with a couple of those shoulda coulda games at Kansas etc. Then last weekend he's beggin to play MSU and ends up on the short end of two games, the real short end..........now rain in Cleveland State, who currently has a 2-9 record, gotta be frustrating...........
