Subject: Game Plan

Whats your thoughts on our game plan against the tigers? I think we have 4 or 5 WR's in the mix, and the middle of the field is the garden spot to work in, they are very good along the sidelines and on out patterns. The hard slants will keep them from sending the student body after our QB... Spread the field and quick hitters, but our receivers MUST catch the ball with hands only, and body position is a must. They are going to get hit, no free-bees in this game, running to a wide open spot, got to be able to get it in traffic and hang on to the ball!!! They are very big, Russ needs all the vision he can get, Is this the time Akers gets his chance to play? If they throw him the ball 8 to 10 times a game that will become the norm. Have seen him play before. Best WR on the team, and in the Gateway Conf, one step futher top 20 in the country! Big time tough and catches the ball!!! Also Norris, needs to return all punts and kicks. Michna needs to not run the ball, if he must be looking for a place to land real quick!! Our running backs must try not to let them selves get strung out. I think we can give them a good game and you never know........ just my thoughts... go NECKS On the D keep doing what your doing, and play with that excitement you have been playing with...

Yeah, I agree that they need to play atleast 3-4 wr's plus TE. And I still cannot figure out the deal with Akers, maybe Hendricksen does not like him but reality says they need him because Gray and Hall are still unreliable. Norris is a plus but with the balls Michna throws his height is a factor. Russ seems to throw balls that are high and drift a bit, and a guy like Akers who has good hands helps. Last season Coleman and Luke both had good hands and bailed Michna out quite a bit. I hope they pass more because I do not feel the run will be effective and alot of passing with 3-4 WR's will keep the D-line honest and that may open up the run at times, but who knows what hendricksen will do, it seems futile with him to expect anything. He has an all-american QB and only throws 20 or less times a game damn, go with your B&B. If they are too conservative on O, they will get blown out early, chances must be taken against a team like this.

You guys are either high on something else besides Leatherneck football or you have escaped from the nut house. Tigers in a romp 52 - 6. But you are all welcome to visit the real "Death Valley" in Baton Rouge Saturday night. Yep that's right, the Tigers play football at night in a stadium that seats 92,000 screaming Tiger Fans. Should the game be selected for TV they will play during the day, but also before 92,000 screaming Tiger Fans. Come and enjoy the experience. There's nothing like it anywhere!
