There have been early talks with western based schools about forming a new conference. The schools involved include,
Denver
Southern Utah
Utah Valley St.
North Dakota St.
South Dakota St.
Cal Bakersfield
The talks are at a very early stage and maybe nothing comes out of them but if SUU leaves, what will the Mid-Con do? I think it's time for Western to look out for themselves and find a stable conference.
I just got back from SDSU's Stan Marshall weekend (Auction and Golf Tourney to benefit the athletic department) and one of the biggest rumor mills of the year, and I didn't hear a thing about a new western conference.
