SHREVEPORT--Centenary baseball coach Ed McCann has announced the signing of Bryan Mitchell and Zac James. The two additions to the 2004 roster bring the total number of new signees to 14 for the upcoming season. Mitchell is the sixth signee from Louisiana.

Mitchell is a 5'10” right-handed pitcher from Slidell, La. He was 2-0 with two saves and a 3.19 earned run average during his senior season at Salmen High School.

“Bryan is a submarine style pitcher who will add to the diversity of our pitching staff,” said McCann.

James comes to Centenary from Palestine, Tex., by way of Paris Junior College. The sophomore transfer is a 5'11”, 200-pound catcher that bats right and throws right.

“Zac is an exceptional catcher who will be a rock for us behind the plate,” added McCann.

Centenary College is a Division I member of the NCAA and the Mid-Continent Conference. Located in Shreveport, La., Centenary is the smallest Division I school in the nation.
