The lyrics to George's singing phone message:

Believe it or not,
George isn't at home,
Please leave a message at the beep.
I must be out, or I'd pick up the phone,

The words are a parody of the theme song to the series The Greatest American Hero. That song became a top 40 hit for singer Joey Scarbury in 1981
