I am trying to find out as much as I can of my great grandfather Michael WIELGUS who arrived Adelaide on the barque "Sophie" from Hamburg in 1858. He settled in Mount Gambier, where he married Amelia Rose and had 9 sons, one of whom was my grandfather Edward Adolph Wielgus. The spelling of the name is now WELGUS. I think I may have discovered all there is to find, but anything you can help with would be wonderful. My father, son of Edward Adolph, was Walter George Welgus, born Brunswick Vic. in July 1927 and I was born Judith Irene Welgus in Mount Gambier Sept. 1948. All replies and information welcome
