Hi Heather,
I live in NSW and find it awkwaed to try and fine any detail of my family history what Info I have is as follows;
John Hancock married Emma Baker approx 1858. they had five children namely William George, Amelia Grace(Rawlings) Osca Joseph, John james and benjamin Thomas. Iam decendant of John James who married a Mary Jane Smith in Port Pirie on12.12.1895. They also had five children John Ernest(my grand father) Edward Roy ,Ivy Grace(Pratt) Sydney Claud(died age 2) Ester May (died at 6 weeks) Mary Jane died at Port pirie in 1903 John James re married a Edith Blanch Lawton early in 1904. I found out the family moved to Robe but I went on holidays in November last year to robe but I could not find any info in that area. The only info I could find is that John James Baker is buried in plot 23o in the historical site but there is no marker and his name is not on the burial list. I discovered that my great uncle Edward roy (passed away in 1974) had 4 sons they are all in their 80yrs and the one that gave me some info passed away in November 2006 Maxwell Ray Hancock.
I have done a fair bit of research on the current family but I am affraid they are not particularly interesed in following through with the family history side of things,
My grandfather left South Australia after he was discharged from the army he came to NSW but my surviving aunts are also not interested. My brother and myself are the ones interesed.
