Hi Heather.

We have traced quite a bit on the Kalms Family. We know that Johann Gottlieb Kalms (b12 May 1815 Prauschwitz, Prussia - Germany) and his wife Johanne Auguste (nee SCHULTZ (b23 Nov 1826 Pruskowo Prussia) came to australia aboard the "Hermann von Bekerath in 1847 with there daughter Julianna Auguste Wilhelmine.

Gottlieb was naturalized in South Australia on the 17th May 1851, he was residing at Blumberg, was 36 years of age and had been residing in south ausralia for 3 years and 6 months at the time of the naturalization. His native place was given as Prauschwitz in Prussia.

Johann Gottlieb and Johanna Auguste were married 16 July 1844 in Rakwitz, Prussia.

I have recently found Johann Gottlieb Kalms' father Georg KALMS as his name is spelt on a prussia website for family research....do you think there is anyway you could help find Georg Kalms' details in prussia, maybe it was on some records in SA from Johann Gottlieb Kalms.

Johann Gottlieb and Johanna Auguste children are Julianna Auguste, Amalie Pauline, Emilie Bertha, ottilie Emma, Adolf Gottlieb, Johann Robert, Maria Martha, Carl Hermann, Anna Louise,..........i do have all family details from Johann Gottlieb Kalms children all the way down to my children basically but i would love to get Johann Gottlieb Kalms parents and siblings and maybe their parents if it were possible.

It would be great to get more information....my family did a family reunion and book in 1987, but i would love to try and go back another generation, but it will be hard as it is in prussia and is now non existant in Poland. All i have to go on is that Johann Gottlieb Kalms' father was Georg Kalms, it is possible that it could be Georg Friedrich Kalms.
