Hi,
My ggrandfather James Macgowan b: 1829 Liverpool England, arrived on the Planter in 1839 d: 10.1.1886 Parkside, South Australia. m:16.11.1853 to Mary Ann Burns, b:1831. I've searched but not found a birth or death cirtificate for Mary. James was a Teacher in the Strathalbyn district before moving north to Tothill Creek. Mary gave birth to a total of nine children. The last child and my grandfather, Percival George Rodwell Macgowan's birth was also not registered.
