Hi Sheldon,

You could try the South Australian State Library - they have an 'Ask Us' Librarian service (query form on-line). (ask 'Google').
They will check their records -including business directories/electoral rolls/newspaper death notices etc. (hopefully 'Adelaide Tailors' will reveal your Uncle's full name).

Also - the South Australian Genealogical Society (SAGS) is also on-line -though without knowing your Uncle's lst name will be difficult -but giving them the father's name may help them check for his death.
They offer a 'transcription service' for a small fee - they will check possible death certificates for your Uncle. (Aus d certificates give lots of info -including names/ages of their off-spring)

Lastly -there's a 'Random Acts of Genealogical Kindness Site (RAOGK)
with volunteers available to help check records etc.(there will be some in South Aus (Adelaide))
