>>Who I am doesn't matter, what I know does. I am in a position to know what is going on out there, I meet more hunters every day than you will in a year. I hear them talk and I listen. I don't just form opinions because I looked at sign in sheets from 3 mgt. areas.
The first sentence in my reply is pretty self explanatory except to maybe a Democrat. Again why would you want to rely on someone giving you a permit rather than drawing one yourself, pretty simple statement.
As long as a single person can control multiple permits the system will be broke.I know of one individual who has just drawn over 20 turkey permits for various areas. I know for fact that at least half of these will go unused.
I know of 6 Jennings deer permits for the hunt going on now that are not being used.I know of 4 blanding gun permits not being used right now. Dupuis, Hickory Hammock, Allapattah,Hungryland, Half Moon, Flying Eagle,Potts,Big Cypress,Dinner Island all these places and others, too many to list, had permits unused because guys had more than 1 and were holding the others in case they killed a deer and wanted to try for another or they just wanted to keep the pressure down. These are not "no Shows " as you like to put it but rather selfish individuals looking out only for themselves and I guarantee you that there were a bunch of folks who put in for these areas that didn't get drawn and would be pissed if they knew the permits were being wasted..We are losing hunters every year in Florida, we need to get more in the field and I believe that this will do it.I truly believe this.I myself have just drawn 3 permits for turkey hunting. 1 for each of the first 3 weeks of the season but these will all be used, none were in my name so I stand to lose as much as anybody if they go non-transferrable.I am just sick of the selfish folks out there who are only looking out for themselves.
I too will be doing all I can to change the system so obviousy you are not changing my mind and I'm not changing yours so lets leave it at that.
