Wayne, Mark,

I certainly like the idea of splitting BP and Archery. I never liked the either/or choice. I've just been lucky to live around enough areas that I could archery hunt without a quota permit. That's a good thing.

What the UHF has said and told FWC staff is the 1 deer per quota permit per hunt rule would stop the need/greed for multiple permits for a single hunt that we've seen in the past. Where a guy goes in, shoots a buck, hands the guy at the gate another permit and goes back in to hunt another one. With "1 per per" it would free up some permits unless like some of the Gamers have stated they'd trash their others and cut down the competition. I hope this wouldn't happen.

With the new idea of getting up to 8 quotas, there's definitely going to be more people left out in the cold than previously before with the limited number of quota hunts out there. Either that or they're gonna come up with a suggestion to make all the hunts 1 or 2 days giving you no time to scout or zone in on the choice spot during a hunt. It's all gonna be left up to luck at that point in order to harvest a deer.

Jim
