 Maybe it is a habit that Nikita has? Maybe she is just used to going there?

Maybe Nikita is embarassed to have money? Maybe Nikita doesn't want to buy more expensive clothes because it would make Michael/Madeline feel bad about what got ruined?

Any other ideas? Body image issues?
