I very rarely watch the Tonight Show, but I did recently because of a guest I wanted to see. I've decided that Jay Leno is a terrible interviewer. He did nothing to make his guests look good.

Could this have been Drew's problem too? Maybe Jay was in charge of the conversation, steering it to things HE wanted to talk about. As you said, it was an ideal opportunity for Drew to talk about any of the things you mentioned, particularly Bob Hope & the USO. I didn't see the show, so I don't know. Did Jay even mention Bob Hope?
