Soap operas tend to do it worse than that. A friend of mine, back in the late 1970's, early 1980's, had 1 of her 2 daughters around the same time as some soap character. By the time that daughter was entering Kindergarten, the soap kid was a teenager. I guess in the land of fiction they grow faster. (Maybe it's due to all the fertilizer in the storylines?)
