Subject: Choosing "volunteers"

I think some time ago people here who went to the tapings said that the pages keep an eye on the people waiting in line to see who would make a good candidate for "volunteer." Can someone verify that or correct me?

I believe I said this a while ago, but it seems to me that they choose people who won't give them any trouble on stage. For instance, they don't want people up there who try to upstage the performers. So, they tend to pick the meek and mild ones.

I also think that Drew prefers those who are on the incompetent side because he likes to laugh at them. He really laughs hardest when the audience member is doing a terrible job. Sometimes I enjoy this too (like the quacking elephant SFX), but the SFX in this ep we're discussing was embarrassing and just really bad. Those women didn't want to do it, esp the second one, who I felt sorry for. I've often thought it's an unattractive side of Drew when he laughs so much AT other people.
