Charges in Fake Viagra Case

From a Times Staff Writer

A federal grand jury in Los Angeles indicted Frank Fu Jen Huang, 58, of Upland on Thursday on charges of trafficking $5.6 million worth of counterfeit Viagra.

According to the seven-count indictment, Huang conspired with others to import at least 50,000 counterfeit Viagra tablets made in China. He also allegedly manufactured 700,000 tablets at Truett Laboratories in Azusa. Huang, scheduled to be arraigned Monday, could receive 51 years in federal prison and a fine of more than $1 million if convicted.

Counterfeit Viagra sells for more than $7 per tablet.
