The two spam/scams that appear to have 'real' money involved are
pills/Viagra and mortgages.

There's been reports that the mortgage companies are paying
$10/20/30/more for "pre-qualified" mortgage 'leads.'

A recent action against a 'online pharmacy' operation included
the demand by the Gumment for the 'online pharmacy' operators
to give up the estimated $125,000,000 the Gumment thinks they
have taken in. (As always, everybody exagerates.)

Most of the pill spam I get is sent through what probably are 'exploited'
systems all over the world. (200.* more often than not)
The web pages are mostly in China, but sometime much closer.
(Southern Bell Hosting had one just recently.)
Only sure way to tell would be to actually order something, and
then see where it's shipped from.
(And if it's really what you ordered, of course.)
(This really needs to be done by FDA and/or State Pharmacy Boards.)
(Then there's what look like 'foreign' websites hosted at Exoduhs or
EV1 or...)

Like the Guy from the FTC said, "We need a couple of good hangings."
