  • Our first dressmaker did that, year after year. We'd be at her house 14 hours before my daughter needed to dance at the O, with her putting the skirt onto the dress for the first time. Needless to say, we now use another dressmaker. It's not worth the stress. Interestingly, our OS dressmaker makes dresses that fit better and arrive on time.   Less than 5 weeks until the Midwest's #1 Fun Feis !! Register NOW for the 3rd annual Halloween Feis to be held October 31st at the MAX McCook facility in McCook, Illinois (suburban Chicago). Make Halloween 2009 the best Halloween yet. Our fun atmosphere is perfect for those first feisers' and beginners while providing top-notch competition for advanced level dancers. For Oireachtas-bound dancers, this is an outstanding opportunity to perform before our esteemed judges and get some feedback 4 weeks before the Oireachtasl.
  
  As in the past, costumes are encouraged for all dance levels. And we will again have our games area to add fun for the whole family. Don't miss registering for the popular costume treble reel, too! IMPORTANT NOTE - We know your Halloween celebrations will continue in the late afternoon and evening, so the cap has been reduced this year to enable us to conclude all competitions by 3:30pm.

  Registration is now open at Feisworx for our 7th Feis Orange County (yes, 2 in one year!). The feis will be held on October 24 and 25, 2009.
  
  We are returning to the Doubletree Hotel (the site of our February feis). The hotel address is Doubletree Hotel Anaheim/Orange County, 100 The City Drive, Orange, California.   These are our new dates--we will no longer have a feis in February.
  
  We have a fantastic group rate for hotel rooms of $99.00 ($20 less than the February room rate). The cut-off date for hotel reservations at this Irish dance rate is October 1, 2009.
  
  The preliminary schedule is as follows:
  
  SATURDAY: All championships, all ages; all championship specials; 13&O First Feis and 13&O Beginner through Prizewinner and special competitions; Catherine O’Connor Memorial Special, music competition, and all adult competitions will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009.
  
  SATURDAY: Halloween special--Our “fun” special danced to reel music. Halloween costume or attire must be worn. This special will be danced at the end of the day on Saturday.
  
  SUNDAY: All U7 through U13 First Feis through Prizewinner and all U7 through U13 special competitions; and all Team Competitions will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2009.
  
  I am aware that there may be Homecoming games and dances this weekend as well as SAT’s and will keep that in mind when the time schedule for the weekend is prepared. If this will affect your dancer, could you please e-mail me and let me know? My plan was to have the high school age dancers scheduled for the morning so they could go to Homecoming dances, but if more will be affected by SAT’s, I may need to change that.

  Predominantly Lime Green and Purple Velvet, the unusual bodice has symmetrical lines of different coloured velvet, shaped at the top and bottom of the bodice with a flattering curve.
  The sleeves are embroidered and inlaid with Swarovski crystals.
  The intricately shaped skirt with contrasting colours is edged with Swarovski crystals and finished off with a layer of lilac and a layer of white lace encrusted with beads.
  The shawl is white lace.
  The lining and kick pants are bright fuscia pink silk.
  This dress is in immaculate condition and is only 12 months old.

  May 8 is the last date to register/pay for the CA Spring Feis without incurring a late fee. To register, please visit www.feisworx.com. Also, May 8 is the last date to book rooms at the Holiday Inn (next door to the feis) and the Four Points by Sheraton (across the street from the feis) at the great rate of $99 per night. The Feis will be held at the same great location, the South San Francisco Conference Center (just minutes away from the San Francisco Airport with excellent access to the freeways) www.ssfconf.com. Both Virgin America and Southwest Airlines will be providing service from SFO to Orange County at the time of our feis. (Low-cost carriers JetBlue, Southwest, and Virgin America all provide services into SFO – from Long Beach, LAX, San Diego, Denver, Phoenix, Seattle… just to name a few.) Our tentative schedule is as follows: All Championships, Championship Specials, all Adult Competitions will be held on Sunday, May 24. All First Feis through Prizewinner Competitions (including Specials), and all Figures will be held on Monday, May 25.
