In case you were wondering where alot of posts went I just did a total cleanup of the board. I got rid of multiple posts, anything with profanity in it and the general chatter that had no point. Some of it was borderline so I left it for now.

Please think carefully before you post. I expect the board will die down again over the coming months with everyone being busy with school or going on holidays and I don't mind some off topic chatter so long as it is kept clean. No profanity, no arguing and no personal attacks. Also think carefully before you do silly stuff like post and then respond to your own post etc etc.

hey all....
Just wanna say WELL DONE to all the NSW dancers for doing really well this year and i think that we put on a good show for the nats, even tho some boring people are complaining about the times etc. Dancing in NSW is at such a high standard and i think every NSW dancer should be congratulated for doing us all proud! GO NSW!

It felt sort of nice, to acknowledge her win.
And she thanked me with grace, as if she was kin.

I wasn�t that girl, who would mope and be glum.
For then I�d be the one they�d all certainly shun.

For if I should find myself up there again,
They�d remember me now, and the state I was in.

I held a prize in my hand and for this I was glad.
Although I couldn�t help feeling just a little bit sad.

For I�d tasted that glory- the honor, and fame,
And now it was hers and I felt somewhat shamed.

Everyone stared and wished they were her,
When I had been that girl only moments before.

But I cast this aside, this sad bout of self-pity,
For I know for that right now she is queen of this city.

And why shouldn�t she be? She�s worked hard and it shows.
And she�s tasted a glory only some of us know.

I�m lucky to have this perspective I guess,
For many dancers always must settle for less.

I know what it�s like, to stand way up top.
And the feeling is great; it certainly rocks!

And if I�m never again to achieve that great high,
I will smile and think with a reminiscent sigh.

About the feeling of winning the number one place,
And the grin that I couldn�t wipe off of my face.

But I know that the thing that will be remembered most,
Is the kiss that I gave to the girl with the most.

When I was not best, not the top of the pack,
The audience knows that I acted with tact.

And this is the reward I will carry life long.
That to be a good sport is the prettiest song.

P.S. congrats to everyone that danced at the Nats !!! Us NSW'ers were great, and we all did our state proud !!!

On behalf of the Australian Irish Dancing Association I would like to thank all the volunteer parents & teachers who gave up all or part of their time over the past 4 days of the Australian Championships. We are a non-profit organisation so therefore rely 100% on volunteers (both teachers and parents) which is why we can keep both admission costs and entry fees down so low. There were many parents who were there from 6am until close every day along with the teachers. I was impressed with their graciousness and the great care they were taking with their jobs. You do not know how greatful we are!
It seemed that everyone had a great time at the Ceili on Sunday night! Good on you, kids! You deserved to let your hair down. A big thank you to the mums who helped to take the money at the door. You, also, were wonderful and gracious. Thank goodness for people like you. Our children have a great future with you as their example. Once I scrape myself off the floor (where I'll be for a few days with exhaustion) I'll try and post the pictures I took at the Ceili on a website (if not ask your teacher to request a photo CD from me). Thanks to Jackie Miller from SA and Pria from Victoria for helping us all to have so much fun.
Also, thank you to those parents and teachers from interstate and NSW who complimented us on the Championships. We appreciated your lovely comments, good wishes and support.
We are certainly looking forward to next year's Australian Championships in QLD. Put us on the volunteer list. We know how much help you need!

u all think vic dancers are up themselves we're not!! we love to hear about everyone's progress throughout australia and r soo excited about coming to sydney to see the talent. I think we need to understand that there are only a select few dancers that r like this, not all of us. So please, let's all get to Sydney and dance our hardest, thats wat we're here for, right?????
