Subject: Good evening everyone. It is about 10:50 p.m. here and I am sitting here waiting for the cake I just baked to cool, so I can frost it. This will be a very busy weekend for us and I wanted to visit the board for a bit to see how everyone has been doing, and to update you also on our doings. more inside - ->

It has been a busy week, had the ladies from my book club at my house to discuss our latest novel "The Master Butcher's Singing Club" by Louise Erdrich. It was a very interesting story despite that odd title. Tomorrow (Friday) evening Don and I will host the "Couples Night Out" event for our club. We will all meet at a restaurant first and then dessert will be at our house. That is why I am baking a German Black Forest Cherry Torte this evening. A few of the other ladies are also bringing something for dessert. We expect about 50 people. It will be a bit tight and Mooch will have to relocate to our bedroom for a while. He loves company, but not quite that many people, lol. I will move all his favorite toys and goodies and cat box there and turn the TV on for him so that he will be all comfy. During the book club meeting he sat right in the middle of the readers' circle as if to say "Hey I want to tell you what I thought about Mommy ignoring me and reading that old book". Then this Saturday and Sunday we will spend all day at the Blooming Festival here in town. Last year the main attraction was Josh Turner and he was sooo good. I love his voice. This year they will have again the regular vendors (arts and crafts, business, etc.) then a car show, bike run, different rides for adults and kids and about 10 different bands on the 3 stages. The Bellamy Brothers and Wild Horses are among the bands. Don and I and some friends of ours are volunteering at the event for the Chamber of Commerce. We will be manning the information booth, which is real close to the main stage so we will have a great opportunity to see and hear the main bands. Next weekend we will be helping out at the Central Texas Air Show (also in the information booth). This will be fun also. As you can see, though we are retired we are busier then when we were working, but we are having such a good time and we are meeting so many wonderful people. Also, of course we are spending a lot of time with our daughter and her family. Kelcie is doing really well. The Easter Bunny was very good to her too. So enough about us, will see what's been happening with you and reply to your posts. Have a great weekend everyone.
