Subject: I sure hope they can get Chicory's Blood Sugar where it belongs...that would be great if the food itself could get him under control. How does Ken feel about giving shots? I would be scared in the beginning I'm sure, but I think I could do it once I got used to it.....I have no idea how Maggie would handle t hat though....I sure hope things go ok with Chicory....I see Denise and Ramona have already given you some good advice and ideas....that's so good to see!! Good Luck...
In reply to: Sandy 's message, "The vet said that the food alone might be enough to kick-start his pancreas into producing insulin again since this is a new condition........Chicory was just in to the other vet four months ago and was fine. But if that doesn't happen, then we're looking at insulin injections, which I know Ken can do. And I'll be there also to go over everything with the vet and get all of the information I can. Even though Chicory is 17 (our best guess), I can't just let him die. He's always been in good health and is such a sweet, loving, mellow cat. The insulin costs, though, could choke us a bit." on 11:47:56 am, Wed, 11/21/07
