Happy Sunday, everyone! I guess you're all out enjoying the holiday weekend because there sure isn't anyone here. For us, it's been fairly quiet. The weather is cool and showery and other than yardwork, which Gerry did Friday evening, there's not much going on around here. I was thinking about some kind of a picnic for tomorrow but again, we're supposed to have scattered thunderstorms and it's not a good idea to be out at the lake if that happens. So we may have to play that by ear. I hope you all have the chance to do something fun for the holiday and spend time with your loved ones. -- Piggy's Pad

I do have a cute story about Friday. As Gerry was mowing the lawn, he was going over the area we had reseeded where our weeping willow used to be. As he went over this area, two *things* shot out from under the mower. He stopped and then called me outside to look at two of the cutest little bunnies you'd ever want to see. We scooted them up into a flower bed and Gerry started the mower back up again. On the next pass, 3 more baby bunnies came flying out. We found the warren in the grass that Momma Bunnie had dug. I called Punkie and Travis to come over and look at the bunnies and when she got here, she called a co-worker of hers who does wildlife rescue. (NT) -- Sandy, 10:24:55 am, Sun, 05/27/07
Her co-worker said to scoop each bunnie up, using gloves, and put them back in the warren when we were done mowing. It turned out to be quite comical with the 3 of us trying to catch those bunnies. We got them all back in the warren and loosely covered the opening with grass. Momma Bunnie was out Friday night in the yard, driving the cats crazy, but I need to go out and try to check the warren today. What an interesting story, Sandy! *Do* keep us posted on how all the bunnies and the Momma Bunny are doing. That's truly *amazing* that you were able to catch them all. I used to raise angora rabbits and spin/knit their wool. Rabbits are such *sweet*, endearing animals. It was so relaxing to comb them and help keep them groomed so they wouldn't get hairballs.
