Subject: State health requirements

I would like to see more info in our newsletters regarding
health requirements when bringing animals to the swaps. In Indiana they have a health inspector / officer make the rounds and check for vet certificates, ear tags, proof of TB testing, etc. I hope this never happens at the Michigan swaps, because I think a lot of sellers would not be allowed to sell. I remember years ago the big deal that was made over pullorum testing, then that blew over.
I just want to do things right, according to the laws and be ready.....with no surprises at the swaps. Let me know, if you can, what the current laws are. I raise goats and sheep, and plan to bring some to upcoming swaps.
