Subject: Fire & Rescue consultation

 Is anyone aware that the Fire & Rescue service is planning a number of major changes to their service provision. The details (and opportunity to reply) can be found at http://www.leicestershire-fire.gov.uk/fireservice/irmp_consultation.shtml

In short, there are 3 of the proposals that may affect the village:
(1) Removal of one of the crews from Loughborough.
(2) Closure of the fire station at Syston
(3) Introducing a new fire station in Birstall.

They are also hoping to re-allocate some of the personnel to create a new team for the north of the county.

If anyone submits any comments to the fire service then can they also CC copy it to the Parish Council to help us determine what the general feeling in the village on the subject is.
