Subject: Mountsorrel Railway Ecology Activity Session Author: Steve Cramp [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 23/10/09 10:42:21 Hello everyone, The Mountsorrel Railway Project is pleased to announce the date for our next ecology activity session aimed at allowing younger children and their parents to discover and learn about their local ecology in a fun and hands on way! Our last session in September was a great success with 18 local families taking part. Our next session is on October 31st (Halloween) and starts at 2:00pm and finishes around 3:30-4:00. Activities for the next session involve study of the wild life habitats the children built last time to see what creatures have taken up residence. There will be an autumnal feel to this session. It’s a great opportunity for children to learn about real insects and creatures opposed to the plastic ones you normally find on Halloween! As before, the Mountsorrel Railway Project is making no charge for taking part in these activities. If you would like to come along please contact Lesley Humphries by email at Lesley@mountsorrelrailway.org.uk. We need to obtain materials so it’s important that we know numbers before the event to avoid disappointment. The meeting place for this session is at the very top of Halstead Road at the junction with Swithland Lane. We will meet on the large grass verge on the corner of the junction. The Mountsorrel Railway Project is run and operated entirely by local volunteers.
