The minutes of the Parish Council and the Planning Subcommittee of the Council are published every month on the PC website. You can also attend the meetings so that you don't have to wait for them to be published.

Once the decision of Charnwood Borough Council and Lafarge/Tarmac not to oppose the Jelson development of 200 houses the only thing for the PC to do was to press that as much money as possible was spent locally for better community facilities. One of the reasons for opposing the development was that the village lacked community facilities for schools, health and and social activities. If the houses are to be built what else do you expect the PC to do? We had to press for as much money to be spent on upgrading the community facilities as possible. It how we got a new Leisure Centre, a new Library and so on.
The PC didn't want the new houses in the first place but once we could see that they would be forced on us we had no option but to try and 'screw' the developer for as much money as legally possible.

I would encourage Jon to stand for the Parish Council at the next PC elections and see if he could do better!
