Let's not compare this mound to Aberfan. It is much, much smaller, the slopes not as long or steep and because it is vegetated with reasonably big trees much more stable. Where the vegetation is missing, probably because kids have used it as a slide, the soil and a few small stones are washed down on to the road but this pretty small scale. There are no springs on the mound so the water which would lubricate any slide runs off quite quickly. There are no cracks in the road which would indicate the whole hillside is moving so I don't think it is a problem.
