It's not hatred to criticize the over-promotion of these three. Natalie thinks she's breaking new ground with "Seen" and she's not. Teaming her with Sara, whose background is strictly fashion, adds nothing. Natalie already has an "advice column" though the paper runs a syndicated Sunday column: "Help Me, Harlan." She's not paid by the feature. Her and Sara both come off as shallow and glitz-obsessed. If the "E!" cable network is hiring people to do red carpet celeb interviews, they might be in good shape. Otherwise, who cares?

"Beer Me Mike" is clumsy and dull. His bit reminds me of something they might do at an "Off The Record" show. And they hired him from the Beaver County Times for THIS? He comes off like a second-string Pittsburgh Dad. I'm sorry, but covering brewpubs won't save the PG. You are right, Jay, about time being short. That is obvious.

What about the other new hires in the newsroom, some very good young reporters who can do real, meaty journalism? They are doing their jobs and wondering when a layoff could come. But they don't get a webcast to show off on. When the PG finally dematerializes financially, they're at a disadvantage.

If you think criticizing all this is "hatred," you may want to take a second and re-examine the actual definition of that word.
