Author: Beaver County Blue (He knows his market!)
Subject: Briscoe has ethics

Keith Briscoe's ink stained hands have produced a number of changes at the Beaver County Times. Among the changes: "reporters" covering events they promote.

One of Briscoe's new "students" (I hear she's actually a copy editor) wrote this story that appeared in a Sunday edition, but as we find out in the second link, she was actually one of the fight promoters:

Here's what the Beaver Countian had to say: http://beavercountian.com/content/daily/editorial-sometimes-its-just-propaganda

Editor Briscoe claims high ethical standards (he also claims to know what he's doing), but as you can see, his "standards" are about as credible as the rag he's created. It's just another Andy Warhol Sunday down here in Beavertown.

That really does cross the line ethically. If she disclosed her involvement in the event to her superiors and they gave it the OK, shame on them. If she didn't disclose it, she should be in deep trouble.

We're talking about the BCT. That's what Briscoe wants.

The Beaver County Times laid off or ran off almost all the true professionals they had on staff, so is this is what you now have.

A friend guided me to this site, and I don't know anything about the media. But I do know we once had a real newspaper in Beaver County that informed us of what was actually going on in our towns. Now I don't even know if my taxes are going up, and that's kind of basic journalism, correct?
This might be a stupid question, but if this guy is responsible for what we have now, which is basically nothing, why don't they fire him?

They did fire him once. Then when the current publisher was offered the job, she said she would take only if Briscoe was hired back.
