No, and yes. Fortunately, no glossy magazine.

Hope the Blocks didn't take a long-term lease out on North Shore Drive. You can't wrap coffee grounds in a digital copy.

Not only are they running color ads announcing that they're taking a holiday on the 4th and Labor Day, today there even was a sticky note on A-1.

the sticky note is an odd way to remind readers that they're getting less. Then again, it's probably self-serving, to avoid filling circulation's voice mailbox monday.

The tone-deafness is impressive to behold. It looks like John R is publishing the P-G only for himself within what budget and staff he has left. If they think sticky notes like these encourage readers to transition to the digital P-G, they're wrong. Between that and newsstand price hikes, all they're doing is getting print readers to become former readers, period.

You don't have to type a period if you say period. Little known fact.

What if someone just chooses to do that?

Basically, the staff is still producing page pdfs, just not going the next stop of printing and delivering. Thus, everyone gets a day off -- except the newsroom.

If they are so bent on saving $$$$$ why not just print fewer days a week like other dailies and do seven days online? It looks like they just don't know what they are doing over on the North Shore, above Burgatory.
