Author: hrp was packed anyway
Subject: Slobberthon had only 4 cars to show up for their new class. After praying for rain, they finally convinced everyone that water was coming up in the track and called the race. Another tactic to save the purse. People can now see how the bakers are struggling without huttel money.
In reply to: David Bennett SC4437 's message, "It's all in the track prep. They don't put any VHT on the far end where most of the wrecks occur. They brag about all the money they spent on the track surface but don't have a clue as to how to prep it. I know for a fact that when doc was there were no wrecks. Now its 2-3 a day. Doc used the same track prep that NHRA uses today. Maybe they should have paid him for the 6 months he was there. I refuse to go there too." on Saturday, February 02, 11:34:34am

[> [> [> [> [> [> I was one of the 4 cars you are talking about. I was to be the next car down the track when they called it. I went down and looked at it. Water was present at every crack from about 10 ft before finish line to 30-40 ft after it. Believe me I wanted to make a run but then again I was glad they called it when they did as I would have been the next one down and it might have cost us a real nice truck. It's easy to be a keyboard critic when you were not there and did not see it for yourself. The problem is not track prep. The problem was when the track was built they did not put down a vapor barrier (plastic) before they poured the concrete. -- jeff benham, Sunday, February 03, 10:38:31am [1]
