You could close any windows that come up when mIRC starts, until you just have a big empty chat window. Then in that you could type "/server irc.chatuniverse.net -j #comicality", which will connect and then join our chatroom. Slightly more advanced - if it's your first time, go through Freefallen's instructions to get your names set up right. After you've done that once, though, the single command I gave you there will bring you right to our chatroom.
