Subject: The deal....

As I've been answering a bunch of emails lately, the questions in the reply have been the same. "What happened?"

So here it is...

A few months ago, I posted something on this board, that said that one of my cousins, who I'm extremely close to, had become pregnant. She was 15/16 at the time. Extremely young for her, but, as a family we stood by her. She said that she wanted to keep it and take care of it without a father in the picture, etc, etc. We were more than willing to support that.

I talked to her from time to time, and she was excited to bring a new member into the family. A little boy, we found out after a while.

Last week...there was an accident. A BAD accident, where her car was turned over. She had just recently gotten her license to drive...and she was 7 months pregnant at the time. She was rushed to the hospital, in serious condition...they performed a Caesarian in order to try to save the baby.

They couldn't. And the baby was lost.

She was unconscious for hours, and wasn't even aware of what happened. But, due to the impact, the baby's blood mixed with hers, and her Caesarian wasn't clotting or healing properly. So we were in danger of losing her as well. Thankfully, she survived, and was able to come home. A service was held for the baby this past weekend, and it was buried close to family. :(

Naturally, this isn't easy for anyone to deal with...but at 16? I have no idea what to do for her. I have no idea what to say to her. I have no advice. My mother is a wreck, her mother is a wreck...it was just a struggle to figure out exactly how to approach something like this. I still don't know how. So, if I've been...'weird' (And I'm trying VERY hard not to be, ok?)...that's why. The site is still going strong. I know it's been kinda quiet on all the boards and all this week, but I'm working EXTREMELY hard on ways to get them moving again. K? The stories will continue next week, and I'll see if I can drop by the chat sometime in the coming week. I haven't been myself lately, but, like I said...we're family, and we'll get through this together. She knows she can call on me at any time...but she's a lot like me, and I doubt she'll call on anybody untl the pain passes.

I appreciate the prayers and emails. I also went to the post office the other day, and I got some very touching letters and gifts from you guys, which REALLY helped me to smile the past few days! Thank you soooo much! That was absolutely amazing, and I needed that. ((Hugz)) I'll be talking to you guys more soon.

Like I said, EVERYTHING will continue as planned starting next week! EVERYTHING! I don't care if I burst an artery, I'm gonna sit right here at this keyboard and get things back in order! K? My apologies for the delay, and I'll seezya soon! I'm doing more emails on Saturday, also. Cool?

Take care...
