If I were a true and proper Devil worshipper, perhaps. Then, one could argue: You are essentially Christian, since the Devil is an element of Abrahamic faith and therefore, since one can't exist without the other, acknowledging the existence of one automatically validates the existence of the other. That is true.

But in this case, no. I hold to Satanism as per LaVey, and that sort of Satanism is in its essence Atheistic in nature. Satanism is a repudiation of BELIEF. It is not a repudiation of God, as he doesn't exist. However Chrisianity DOES exist, and as long as that's here, I'm going to oppose it. What better way than to adopt the name of the Adversary, the Accuser? It's fitting, I think. It also annoys the Hell out of real Christians. Nobody likes Satan because Satan is BAD, right?

Meh, what's in a name?
