I have to say that the Shack has been in my life for awhile now. I discovered the wonders of gay fiction and couldn't get enough. I desperately searched for new outlets to pursue when I stumbled upon a version of the Shack that isn't even a quarter of what it is today.

I'd say I was about 13 when I first read a story on the Shack. Of course, it was NKIS and from there I read everything on the site. From "Class" to "My Only Escape" to "Left Without Words", pretty much everything. I have read every story on the Shack and I love each one in their own way, some more than others. Those I feel more connected to helped me through some majorly difficult times in my life when I was still discovering who I was and who I wanted to be.

The underlying message that I personally feel is apart of the stories is that in the toughest times, hope still exists. That life does go on after the storm.

I am 19 now and everyday I am still thankful for the lessons I've learned from Com's stories and the people I've met who are just as confused as I am, still trying to understand how to navigate through life. I haven't quite figured it out yet, but thanks to the Shack, I'm getting there...

P.S. Even though I know each writer is different, some of the stories I read still can't hold a candle to Com's amazing skills as a writer. THUMBS UP!!!!!
